The information contained in this note was created to raise awareness of the potential and injuries
Risks of using a chainsaw for general cross-cutting activities are linked. Chainsaw users are encouraged to continue training in this area through an accredited training provider.
General safety
Or read the manual for your model saw. It will give you the safety features
Your chain saw and the proper way to manage.
o CheckThe chainsaw thoroughly before use.Make make sure that the chain and sprockets are in
good condition and all safety devices are working properly. If you are unsure, take it
a service provider.
Always wear or wear suitable protective clothing (see below).
o Keep other people and pets away from the area. If you do not get distracted. Stop
the chainsaw if somebody starts talking to you.
o If tired, take a break. Chainsaw operation requires constant attention and tiredThe operators have more accidents.
Regularly:
or Sharpen your visa;
o Check the guide bar for burring and
Service or the chainsaw.
Before cutting make sure that:
o The car is in good condition (no, wear or loss);
The chain brake or work
Or the work, throttle lock and throttle stop properly;
o The chain is lubricated, sharp, and the voltage is correct and
The carburetor or the minimum setcorrect.
After using the saw:
o Clean the chainsaw (particularly the air filter, cooling vents and front sprocket cover).
Preventing hearing loss
Most chainsaws emit noise or that can cause permanent hearing damage if used for long periods at a time.
More or safety standards and approved headphones or earplugs.
o Make sure the exhaust is in good condition.
Make your tuned engine or the manufacturer's specifications.
Prevent wastePoisoning
or exhaust gas chainsaw contain toxic elements such as carbon monoxide.
o Make sure the exhaust is in good condition.
or not working in confined spaces.
Fire prevention
Or filling in an area clear of flammable material.
Or the chainsaw fuel only after the engine is turned off and cooled.
o Do not smoke during use or filling of the saw.
Move or at least 10 feet away from fuelingbefore departure.
o Make sure caps are screwed on tight and leak fuel is removed.
o Use only safety of fuel tanks.
o Keep a fire extinguisher or backpack in the nearby when fire restrictions are in force or is a
real opportunity to start a fire.
Personal protective equipment
approved safety helmets with visor or goggles, ear protection, protective leggings cut, steel safety
Boots and gloves worn to protect against chain sawInjuries
Use your chainsaw
Do not use a chainsaw or engaged with the lock on the throttle. The motor speed can not be controlled with the accelerator in this position.
or hold the saw with both hands.
o Keep the saw so that your body is clear of the cutter bar.
o Make sure the saw does not touch any foreign materials. Stones, nails, etc. can be thrown, connect to damage the saw or the saw unexpectedly.
OBe careful when cutting wood chip - SHARP strip can be intercepted in wood and hurled in your direction.
o If on a slope, stand on the uphill side or to a page of the protocol. Watch out for rolling logs.
Preventing kickback
Kickback occurs when the saw bar vomited uncontrollably during cross-cutting theme is
most striking in the head trader at a rate of serious injury or death. This is the fourth chain on top of the bar nose caused by a collisionForeign matter blocking or during
Saws. The strength of chain (running at full speed up to 60kph) raised the tip of a barrel
Arc for the operator to react faster than the operator.
To prevent injury from kickback:
o Make sure the unit is equipped with a chain brake (preferably inertia activated);
o Make sure that the brake mechanism is clean and efficient operation;
o Use low kick back type chain and avoid lowering the depth gauges too much whenSharpening;
o Keep the saw so that the left hand around the top with the thumb grip
below;
o Do not bring the upper quadrant of the guide in contact with foreign bodies;
o Do not cut above shoulder height, and
O always start the cutting speed during peak hours.
Logs under tension
o Start the first cut on the pressure side to a third of the diameter, then the second section on the voltage - otherwise the sawbe trapped.
For the record, or touching the ground cut three quarters of the way through the log then roll to complete the cut - not to damage the chain.
